GBI Becomes a Member of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI)

We are happy to announce that we are now a member of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI). The UNAI is an initiative operating within the United Nations that promotes partnership among higher education and research institutions and the UN itself. Founded in 2010 by current UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, UNAI now has over 1000 member institutions in 120 countries.

In order to promote a culture of social and educational responsibility, UNAI relies on ten key principles, including sustainability, global citizenship, and educational opportunity for all. Every member group of the UNAI initiative must also commit to these principles in their pursuit of intellectual growth and outreach. As a newly accepted member of UNAI, GBI will dutifully see that these principles are not only endorsed but celebrated within our organization. UNAI members must carry out at least one activity per year that aligns with and represents UNAI’s goals.

GBI is confident that the current and future success of our Summer School Program will provide a strong foundation for our organization to lead other events that further UNAI’s goals and directives. We are also looking forward to collaborating with other UNAI members in order to diversify and widen our academic outreach.
